Born in St Ives, Cornwall 1991, Alice Freeman moved to London to do a Foundation in Fine Art at Byam Shaw School of Art in 2008. She went on to complete a Drawing and Fine Art Degree at Camberwell College of Art, University of the Arts London in 2013. Shortly after graduating she received a scholarship to study and work on the 'Above and Below Ground Project'in Siena, Italy. My work deals with tactile and textural forms that emerge through the manipulation of materials transforming them into a space that both repels and attracts. "With a focus on repetition, texture and mark making, layers are built up and then stripped back, starting the process over again."
