"Inês de Castro was a Galioian noblewoman best known as lover and posthumously-recognised wife of King Peter I of Portugal. The couples' romance has become Portuguese legend due to their forbidden love. Ines was sadly executed and it is believed that after 700 years you can still see the blood at the Fonte dos Amores, the Lovers Fountain. After her lover Peter became King he demanded Ines be recognised as Queen of Portugal. Following his death they were buried together, so they could face one another on their journey to paradise."
