Jill Carter explores the notion of identity with her quirky, dark and engaging diverse multi-media narrative rich practice which includes collections of one-off totemic stitched figures, prints and assemblages, transforming found and made objects into contemporary storytelling folk art. This series of 2/3D storytelling artworks were inspired by a quest in search of the Sybils, mythological women storytellers, performative journeys both real and imagined, with journaling travels to Japan, India and Italy, exploring everyday and sacred spaces, mausoleums and shrines.
