The artist takes inspiration from nature and exotic beauty of this unusual, majestic and ornamental plant native to South Africa. The bold and vibrant orange flowers are seen by Pilarczyk as a symbol of happiness and enthusiasm but also freedom, immortality and Paradise. With its large leaves and magnificent blooms, it’s no wonder that the flower has associations with luxury and grandeur but also romance and faithfulness. It resembles the head and beak of the world’s most beautiful and colourful birds, which lend their name to the exotic bloom.
